at the airport

so i here i sit at the airport using the free wireless service, how great is that? having a laptop has revolutionzed my life! (*thank you nathan!!*)

i'm flying standby so here's hoping i make it to atlanta tonight for my week of family vacation. being on ww while on vacation should be interesting. however, it can't be that different than this summer has been already. i will just count my points and continue to make good choices. i HAVE to stick to the plan because i've got a date for cedar point in october i have to keep.

i think i'm learning

this ww thing is starting to click. i have been away from home for the past week and a half and that's always the biggest challenge. at home in my own kitchen, it's not bad, change the variables and things have slipped in the past.

so here's a couple of things i am learing that are making it easier to stay on track:

*carry your points counter, the 'getting started' book with point values, and your food journal in your purse so you can write down through the day (yeah, i know, should have been doing this from week one)

*all fat free dressings are not horrible. i had a terrible aversion to them after trying fat free ranch (never tasted a good one yet) but it turns out that some other flavors are actually good.

*you just have to do it. you just have to do it. you just have to do it.
no matter what. no matter where you are. no matter what is being served. no matter how much you want to give up. there is ALWAYS a way to stick with it.

someday, this work is going to pay off and it's going to be so freaking worth it. it's good to feel like i am the one making choices instead of feeling trapped by old habits.

panera i am so mad at you right now!!!!

BEWARE OF THE NEW ROASTED RED PEPPER & LENTIL SOUP AT PANERA

first of all it is does NOT taste good
you must understand that to fully appreciate what i am about to tell you.

most importantly
it has 2-3 TIMES AS MANY CALORIES AS THE REST OF THE SOUPS!!!
380 CALORIES
25 FAT GRAMS!!!!!
11 FIBER GRAMS

FOR ONE CUP

this is ridiculous to me. i could have had my favorite, the broccoli cheddar. i could have had french onion. heck i could have had the loaded baked potato soup ALL FOR WAY LESS POINTS!!

but noooooooooooooooooooo i had to pick this one because it sounded like it would be good for you! i don't even like lentils and red peppers. i thought this vegetarian soup would surely be the one with the least calories.

stupid stupid stupid

8 points, *8*, EIGHT POINTS ON A FRIDAY WITH THE WHOLE DAY AND A SPECIAL DINNER I WAS TRYING TO SAVE UP FOR LOOMING AHEAD

utterly wasted on crappy soup.

i am pissed off. can you tell?

*and yes i tried to look it up before hand but dwlz.com was not working today! i finally found the nutrition values on panera's site.

assanine.

p.s.
i am thankful for the free wireless access and comfy couch. but I AM STILL MAD AT YOU!!

eightybee's

did you know that applebee's has weight watchers points right on the menu? i saved a ton of points up for dinner and was actually surprised that i only needed about 7 of them for a steak & shrimp dinner. it wasn't bad either. the rice pilaf could have been alot better, but not bad for 7 points.

the food isn't always that great applebee's, but you know what is always great there? (not the tacky wall decorations either) the muzak! they seriously have really good 70 & 80's music playing everytime i have been there.

it is on

ok, so now i have another incentive to stick with ww. (as if i needed more than just the joy of fitting into smaller sizes....so far i have gone down 1 size!). anyway the other incentive is a trip to cedar point in the fall, it will be a reward if i stick to the plan. this may not make sense to you, but you must understand how much i love rollercoasters and rides. it's one of my favorite things to do.

today i went to my meeting and i was down another 1.2 pounds! yay!!!

snack of the week: carrot chips! they are just plain raw carrots cut into little crinkle shaped chips. zero points! fabulous with tomatilla salsa!
